Elbschlösschen Ensemble

Historic street with six buildings in Meißen

With the revitalization of the ELBSCHLÖSSCHEN ENSEMBLE street, which characterizes the cityscape, in a prime location in Meißen, investors are offered 60 high-quality residential units with living spaces ranging from 29.50 m² to 128.20 m² in six buildings. The three listed houses from the turn of the century offer a unique view of the Elbe landscape and the picturesque silhouette of Meißen's medieval old town. Through the sustainable renovation of the old buildings, with the addition of balconies, the creation of an underground car park and a green courtyard, the ELBSCHLÖSSCHEN ENSEMBLE meets the requirements of contemporary housing. The building structure, which is worth protecting, with the distinctive stylistic elements of bygone eras, is also retained in many parts of the interior. The historic residential ensemble is supplemented by three new buildings on existing open space, which harmoniously complete the historic street on the Elbberg. In terms of energy, the ensemble meets all KfW requirements for a 55 EE / 70 EE efficiency house or 40 QNG efficiency house.

Stylish revitalization in a prime location

The Italian Renaissance was one of the great models of historicism, the architectural style that reflected bourgeois culture and lifestyle in the second half of the 19th century. With the resumption of various historical stylistic elements ('neo styles'), past forms of art and jewelry were recorded. Gottfried Semper, who created the opera of the same name in neighboring Dresden, is one of the prominent representatives of this architectural style.

The buildings at Bahnhofstrasse 6 - 11 also bear witness to the architectural heyday of that time: as typical examples of their time, rich in ornamentation, with clear ceiling heights, stucco decorations, elaborately designed staircases and decorated facades.

3x listed buildings, 3x new buildings

Three existing buildings and three new buildings combine to form a contemporary ensemble. The sensitive handling of history as an important part of the revitalization also continues in the integrated new building. The new buildings complete the street in proportion and size and fit naturally and harmoniously into the overall ensemble, but carry it into modernity with an independent architectural language on the outside. All buildings form a flowing transition. Connection and openness as a basic architectural idea.

The outfitting

Historical building structure reinterpreted

Double-winged entrance portals with gable ornaments, a column-lined staircase, curved railings with floral decorative elements and historical floor tiles give the ELBSCHLÖSSCHEN ENSEMBLE its unmistakable charm. The richly decorated cassette doors with gable-crowned door frames, some of which have been preserved in the interior, are particularly enchanting.

The typical neo-renaissance facades of the ELBSCHLÖSSCHEN ENSEMBLE with its symmetrically arranged windows are being revitalized without losing their style-defining character. The wooden windows, divided into central and cross beams, are adapted to contemporary ecological requirements through triple glazing; The colors of the window and base emphasize the characteristic appearance. All apartments are equipped to a high standard. Wherever possible, historical elements are retained and professionally restored: surfaces are exposed and carefully rebuilt, fittings are made usable again, metal grilles are processed and the original functionality is thus restored. The design is complemented with real wood floors and large-format tiles in the sanitary area. Each residential unit is heated by underfloor heating.

Artistic view - natural view

The apartments with a south-west orientation offer a unique view of the historic silhouette of Meißen and the surrounding Elbe valley. The interior units have spacious terraces with a view of the leafy courtyard and the in-house playground. Deep parking spaces for cars and a generous range of bicycle parking spaces complete the offer.

Located on the banks of the Elbe, the city is not only scenically attractive, but also strategically positioned. Meißen is located in close proximity to the three largest cities in Saxony - Dresden, Chemnitz and Leipzig - and is therefore optimally integrated into the regional transport network. This proximity not only creates numerous jobs, but also attracts other companies and service providers in the industry.

Meißen is increasingly developing into an important hub in Saxony's technological network, where professional opportunities and a high quality of life go hand in hand.
