Location

The Zaunkönige ensemble is located in a quiet, mature residential area without much traffic. In just ten minutes on foot or four minutes by bike you can reach virtually all the shops you could possibly need for daily living – from pharmacy to supermarket, from gym to hairdresser. Since many families live here, the infrastructure for children is particularly good: several kindergartens are located in the immediate vicinity, one directly along Teutonenstraße. Two primary schools are 10 to 15 minutes away on foot, a secondary school, meanwhile, is about ten minutes by bike. The special charm of Altglienicke, however, lies in its felicitous mixture of village character and Berlin feel. Traditional businesses still exist here, including bakery and pastry shop "Werner's Backstube", founded in 1894, as well as a fine selection of owner-operated businesses, small cafés and restaurants.
