Life in Balingen
Balingen is located on the edge of the Swabian Alb in the valley of the Eyach, a tributary of the Neckar. South of the city are the so-called Balinger Mountains, including the Plettenberg, the Schafberg and the Lochen (with Lochenstein and Lochenhörnle). To the west of the city lies the Lias plain of the Kleiner Heuberg. The city consists of the core town and the districts of Dürrwangen, Endingen, Engstlatt, Erzingen, Frommern, Heselwangen, Ostdorf, Roßwangen, Stockenhausen, Streichen, Weilstetten and Zillhausen.
Balingen is a city in the south of Baden-Württemberg, about 75 kilometers south-southwest of Stuttgart and 65 km north of Lake Constance. It is a district town and the second largest city in the Zollernalb district after Albstadt and forms a middle center for the surrounding communities. The federal highway 27 runs through Balingen, which joins the federal highway 463 north of the Engstlatt district to the south of Balingen for a length of about 10 km.
