Balingen is located on the edge of the Swabian Alb in the valley of the Eyach, a tributary of the Neckar. Balingen is a city in the south of Baden-Württemberg, about 75 kilometers south-southwest of Stuttgart and 65 km north of Lake Constance. It is a district town and the second largest city in the Zollernalb district after Albstadt and forms a middle center for the surrounding communities. The federal highway 27 runs through Balingen, which joins the federal highway 463 north of the Engstlatt district to the south of Balingen for a length of about 10 km.
