Oberjesingen lies on the edge of the Korngäu region, around five kilometres from Herrenberg. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1314, although at that time it was called Oesingen. The name Oberjesingen came into use after the Thirty Years' War. On 1 March 1972, Oberjesingen was incorporated into the city of Herrenberg. Today, this northernmost district has around 3,143 inhabitants (as of December 2021).
From the edge of the forest you have a beautiful view over Herrenberg and the Gäu region as far as the Swabian Alps. The area also offers excellent walking routes. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the running trail that starts at the sports ground.

Oberjesingen
Clubs and organisations enrich life in Oberjesingen and promote a sense of community and inclusion. A central hub for cultural life is the community centre of the Protestant church. The local sports club has around 700 members and focuses on volleyball, football and recreational sports. The cycling club is active in both recreational riding and artistic cycling. Athletes regularly train in the Wasenäckerhalle and frequently earn accolades in youth competitions. The club also organises group bike tours throughout the year. The fruit and gardening club works to preserve local landscapes and orchard meadows. Many young people are also involved in the carnival guild, which hosts the annual "witch baptism" every January.
The Oberjesingen bakehouse is especially popular: here, clubs and residents bake onion tarts, traditional loaves, and Christmas pretzels. Flour and other ingredients are available just next door at the mill shop, located in a nearly 90-year-old mill run by a cooperative. Oberjesingen also has a butcher and a bakery, along with two restaurants and two small pubs.
