The district of Lerchenau is located in the north of Munich and offers residents not only an excellent infrastructure, especially with regard to social and public facilities, but also a variety of leisure opportunities.
Lerchenau originally emerged around 1900, as a colony offshoot from the village-like community of Feldmoching. Feldmoching was the center of the village, with the loosely developed colonies of Eggarten, Fasanerie, Lerchenau and Harthof emerging as communities characterised by single and two-family houses. This tendency still partly shapes the picture today. Smaller apartments buildings have sprung up through redensification efforts, which have been socio-demographically and infrastructurally beneficial for further local development.
Shops for daily errands are in the immediate vicinity, along Lerchenauer Straße. To the north, almost in the immediate vicinity, one can find, for example, Aldi, REWE, and FRISTO supermarkets.
