New Kid
on the Block

Understanding comes before design - the architecture of the SCHANZENKIND combines old and new and integrates the new building with sensitivity into the grown environment.

This project is a child of the Schanze.

We understood that the ski jump was here before us and we will now add a new building block to the development of this unique neighborhood. Red-brown bricks as the basis of the building are continued through a varied and light façade development, together with the classic interpretation of the top floor, take up the motifs and design of the neighboring buildings and combine them into a new, harmonious whole. We continue what has always characterized the district.

Four townhouses and 25 condominiums are being built at Bartelsstrasse 65 in two buildings. A number of rental apartments and a day-care center are also being built around the car-free inner courtyard. Eight parking spaces with charging facilities for e-cars and one space for two-wheelers can be found in the underground car park.

Here lives
life

An entire district united in one courtyard: Hamburg's Schanzenviertel is characterized by charming courtyards, classic apartment buildings and a unique liveliness. Whether renter or owner, artist or shopkeeper, whether young or old, everyone can experience neighborly togetherness here in the Schanze. We have geared our claim to new development to this. This also includes architecture that creates spaces for a communicative community that takes current demands on housing and life seriously. The inner courtyard connects the four town houses and the condominiums, which embody a great deal of lightness with their large window areas, airy balconies, loggias and roof terraces. The SCHANZENKIND is like the district itself. It connects people and leaves room for individual creativity within their own four walls in the middle of the Schanzenviertel.

Condos

Image new build property Schanzenkind, Hamburg
  • 25 condominiums
  • with 2 to 4 rooms
  • and approx. 56 to 130 m² of living space

Living is a real pleasure. Natural light from all sides and a quality of outfitting that makes every heart beat faster. The choice of materials gives the 25 condominiums their outstanding flair. The special aesthetics result from the many carefully selected details: the wooden floors in all living rooms, designer door handles and flush doors are style-defining for every apartment. The best conditions to make your new apartment your own home.

Townhouses

  • 4 townhouses
  • on 3 levels
  • with 4 rooms
  • approx. 125 to 129 m² of living space

Four houses, three floors, two terraces and one vision: your own house on the Schanze. On the ground floor, life takes place between the entrance and patio door. Here cooking, eating and relaxing find a common level.

It is a rare privilege to sit on your own terrace in the middle of the Schanzenviertel - here is the opportunity.

One floor above opens up space for everything that will make living in a townhouse in the Schanzenviertel so unique. Two rooms and a bathroom leave plenty of space for life and for the future.

On the third level, things get personal. Here the signs point to tranquility and individuality. The perfect retreat with its own rooftop terrace, separate bathroom and with character. Whether it's a bedroom or study, an atelier or a studio, there's room for personality up here.

This level of townhouses has been deliberately designed so that anything is possible. The roof terrace gives the room an additional dimension, and the private bathroom underlines the need for privacy on the 2nd floor. With light from two sides, the spacious interior design and, last but not least, the high quality of the outfitting features, this place can become a favorite place in the Schanze for its residents.

The new has always been at home here

The hill has many facets. You can really feel the atmosphere around Bartelsstrasse. This is where the quarter has its origins. Once characterized by manufacturing, an urban subculture developed over the years, which soon spread to the neighborhood. The SCHANZENKIND is close enough to the pulsating scene around Susannenstrasse and shoulder blade to be able to walk home even after an eventful end of work.

During the day, owner-managed boutiques, the varied gastronomic scene and cultural diversity promise to keep rediscovering old ways. Small supermarkets, shops with traditional international specialties on the one hand and the selection of everyday offers in the Rindermarkthalle on the other stand for the diversity of life in the Schanze. The schools and kindergartens are known for their high quality and innovative concepts and offer an excellent basis for development and education.
