Location description
The project is located in the Berlin district, part of the district Köpenick on Dämeritzsee. The area stretches from downtown Berlin to the border in the east. It is a popular local recreation area.
The Dämeritzsee is located in the southeast of Berlin and is half in the Berlin city area and the other half in Brandenburg. The Berlin-Rahnsdorf town of Hessenwinkel (Treptow-Köpenick district) borders the lake to the north and west, while the town of Erkner (Oder-Spree district) borders the lake to the east and south.
The Dämeritzsee is roughly circular with a diameter of around one kilometer. It is part of the Rüdersdorf waters federal waterway with waterway class III. The Spree-Havel Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible.
The Dämeritzsee is a hub for local recreational boating, as you can reach various bodies of water from here, such as the Müggelspree, the Müggelsee, the Gosen Canal and the Seddinsee.
Across the street at the Dämritz-Seehotel you can rent and charter boats to take a nice, relaxing tour on the lake or you can take one of the many tours.
Of course the lake is also a beautiful swimming lake. The nearest swimming area is within walking distance.
