A central feature of this project is its outstanding energy efficiency. This means maximum cost-effectiveness and exemplary environmental awareness. To further minimize the environmental impact, the houses' heat is supplied by a central pellet system, a renewable biomass that is 100% renewable and does not use fossil fuels.

Alsbach-Hähnlein, a picturesque community in Hesse, Germany, extends into the southern part of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district and is part of the vibrant Rhine-Main metropolitan region. The merger of the towns of Alsbach and Hähnlein in 1971 formed the modern Alsbach-Hähnlein, which extends on the eastern slope of the Odenwald and is surrounded by an enchanting landscape.
