Cuxhaven is located at the northernmost tip of Lower Saxony, directly at the mouth of the Elbe in the North Sea. The city is one of the oldest "North Sea health resorts" and is known far beyond the regional borders and is very popular as a holiday resort.

Short distances and always the water in sight

Distances

The optimal, short distances to Oldenburg, Hamburg, Hanover, Bremen, Berlin and Cologne are good reasons why Duhnen is so popular with holidaymakers from all over Germany.

The transport connections via the A27 motorway and the numerous federal roads, including the B6, the B73 and the B495, are ideal - both for business and tourism. The distance to the train station in Cuxhaven is just about 5 km, so you can easily reach many places by public transport. Rail traffic is well served by the Bremen-Bremerhaven-Cuxhaven, Bremerhaven-Bremervörde-Hamburg and Hamburg-Stade-Cuxhaven railway lines. Ship traffic is very important, especially in the tourist sector, and the two seaports of Cuxhaven and Bremerhaven optimally meet the requirements.

You can experience the North Sea up close by boat or plane and travel to the beautiful island of Helgoland. If you decide to take a small boat tour on the Weser, the center of Bremen is only 104 km away. Would you like to spend time in downtown Hamburg and go shopping in a relaxed manner? In just 132 km you can reach the "Neuer Wall" in Hamburg with many wonderful boutiques.
