The
Project
Residential development project May & Nielsen lies in the heart of the Weissensee district. The name is reminiscent of the district's glamorous history: known as "Little Hollywood" in the 1920s, local movie studios produced silent films that were acclaimed worldwide, including classics such as "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari". For a short time, Weissensee became the hippest hangout in the cinema scene.
Today, history and the contemporary zeitgeist complement each other. One encounters a mix of classic and modern buildings everywhere in Weissensee, an aesthetic sensibility taken up in the May & Nielsen ensemble. To this end, May & Nielsen's charming garden house, an historic building undergoing extensive refurbishment, can be found standing proud in the courtyard of a newer, modern residential building.
The
Area
Formally within the city district of Pankow, Weissensee borders Prenzlauer Berg t the southwest but has retained its own character. Weissensee is a popular address for those looking for a retreat in the midst of the vibrant metropolis. With its historic townhouses, large courtyards and greenery, the district radiates a unique atmosphere:
lively and relaxed at the same time.
Short journeys guaranteed thanks to
supermarkets, bakeries, weekly markets all in the neighbourhood – in Weissensee you can find everything you need for daily life. Families with children benefit from numerous schools and kindergartens in the immediate vicinity.
