Mainz-Kostheim, the southernmost district of the state capital of Wiesbaden, is located directly at the mouth of the Main and the Rhine. Mainz-Kostheim is the southernmost district of the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden.
Kostheim is located directly at the mouth of the Main and the Rhine. This district is one of the so-called AKK districts, which became part of the city between 1908 and 1913 and 1945
Mainz and after the war were placed under the administration of the city of Wiesbaden by the American military government. For this reason, the suffix "Mainz" was retained despite the political affiliation with Wiesbaden.

At Kostheim Harbour, it is worth climbing the 15 meter high observation tower. The panoramic view conveys impressions of the Main just before it flows into the Rhine, of the Kostheimer lock, the bridge to Ginsheim-Gustavsburg and of Alt-Kostheim.
A walk or a bike ride across the Maaraue are also highly recommended.
