Step inside and be inspired
by the one-of-a-kind setting

Situated between Nauener Tor and the Dutch Quarter, the Klostergarten is a historic landmark ensemble currently undergoing sensitive restoration and enhancement. A thoughtful fusion of historic architecture and a newly added building within the garden is giving rise to modern lifestyles in a place rich with heritage.

A total of 19 apartments are being developed in the two buildings, each offering unique layouts, sizes, and architectural features to suit individual tastes. What unites them is meticulous attention to design and premium quality: wooden windows and doors, oak floorboards, and carefully crafted bathrooms reflect the high standards of Berlin-based developer Glockenweiß.

New build

Aesthetic design meets
modern perfection

The new building in the tranquil courtyard of the Klostergarten exudes lightness and transparency. Large windows open onto the garden, flooding the interiors with daylight.

The eight units are primarily maisonettes with open, airy layouts. Styled like modern townhouses, each unit has a private entrance. Even the smaller apartments are cleverly planned to feel spacious and bright.

Private outdoor spaces complement the garden. Corner units feature double-height courtyards planted with delicate trees, adding elegance to the architecture and a distinctive sense of space.

As with the rest of the development, the materials used meet the highest standards, with certifications including FSC, PEFC, Greenguard, and LEED. Every detail is considered and aesthetically refined.

True beauty is timeless

The stately historic building is being carefully renovated to preserve its heritage features. Award-winning firm vanGeisten-Marfels, specialists in heritage buildings for over 25 years, has been chosen to lead the restoration. Eleven unique apartments will take shape, each with its own architectural charm. Some offer soaring ceilings with mezzanines; others are enhanced by clever interior staircases and generous layouts.

All units will be outfitted to the highest standards, with technical features and bathrooms that reflect modern quality. Most apartments also include private balconies, loggias, or terraces – ideal additions to the shared Klostergarten.

Materials are certified to rigorous sustainability standards, ensuring thoughtful design and flawless execution in every detail.

Historic building

Where heritage meets
modern elegance

Located between Nauener Tor and the Dutch Quarter, the Klostergarten is a preserved architectural ensemble now undergoing restoration. The project unites a historic building with a new addition to create sophisticated living spaces with deep historical resonance.

The refinement of the original buildings, commissioned by Frederick the Great during the second Baroque expansion of Potsdam, can still be felt today. Among the best-preserved is the 1736 twin house, known for its rare beer hall license and longstanding identity as the Klostergarten.

A picturesque gate leads through the Klosterpassage to the quiet inner courtyard, where the development merges past and present with care and respect for the original structure.

A total of 19 units are being created, each one distinct in size, layout, and style. Yet they are all united by an unwavering focus on high design and craftsmanship: wood-framed windows and doors, solid oak flooring, and carefully curated interiors express the refined vision of Glockenweiß.

Potsdam city center

The best location
today and tomorrow

Friedrich-Ebert-Straße is one of Potsdam’s most iconic streets, stretching through the historic center from Nauener Tor to the state parliament building. Majestic landmark buildings line the street, beautifully complementing the nearby Dutch Quarter.

Owner-run shops, galleries, cafés, and restaurants make Friedrich-Ebert-Straße a destination for those who appreciate the exceptional. Ongoing urban planning initiatives are set to further elevate this outstanding location.

In the years ahead, Friedrich-Ebert-Straße will be transformed into a pedestrian-friendly boulevard – no more private vehicles, but plenty of green space and generous sidewalks. Already the best address in Potsdam, this location is set to become even more attractive in the future.
