Herzogaurach - sporty and sophisticated

Most people first associate Herzogenaurach with the two world-famous sporting goods manufacturers Adidas and Puma, as well as the technology group Schaeffler. Sports enthusiasts remember that Lothar Matthäus, captain of the 1990 soccer world champion team, once began his career in Herzogenaurach.

The historic old town of Herzogenaurach is as internationally renowned as the figureheads. It shapes the cityscape and invites you to take a relaxing stroll and linger with its picturesque streets. Fashion and department stores, small boutiques and specialist shops as well as restaurants and cafés are close together here.

A wide range of cultural and sports activities as well as the rural surroundings ensure a high quality of life. Families appreciate the wide range of schools: from elementary, middle and secondary school to high school and a Montessori school, everything is available.

In combination with the neighboring cities of Nuremberg, Fürth, Erlangen and Forchheim, Herzogenaurach is part of the business location "Metropolitan Region Nuremberg". Many well-known companies have settled here, offering numerous jobs in attractive sectors.

Short distances to work and leisure

Car, bus and in the future even a suburban train – the Herzo Base will be even better connected to traffic in the future. The center of Herzogenaurach can be reached in a few minutes by car. Via the nearby junction to the A3, it is also not far to Erlangen, Nuremberg or Fürth, each with a 20 or 30 minute drive. The many opportunities for local recreation and leisure activities, such as trips to Franconian Switzerland with its hiking and biking trails, are also quickly accessible by car.

Verkehrsverbund Großraum Nürnberg (VGN) offers a number of bus routes connecting the new district with Herzogenaurach and the surrounding towns. The city bus line 274 runs every hour between the central bus station "An der Schütt" and the Herzo Base. Line 199 connects Herzogenaurach with the "Am Wegfeld" stop in Nuremberg, while express bus line 200 offers a fast connection between Herzo Base and Erlangen (ZOB). There is a connection to the regional and S-Bahn in the direction of Fürth-Nuremberg and Forchheim-Bamberg. Line 134 connects the Herzo Base with the train station in Emskirchen, line 246 with Höchstadt.

On the other hand, the Stadt-Umland-Bahn, which will also stop at Herzo Base, is still in the planning stage (www.stadtumlandbahn.de). It is expected to connect the cities of Nuremberg, Erlangen and Herzogenaurach as a tram from the early 2030s. The "Am Wegfeld" stop, the northernmost stop of the Nuremberg tram system, is the starting point for the city-surroundings railway. The destination of the route in the west is the city center of Herzogenaurach.
