The architectural concept
Comprising three individual apartment blocks set side by side, "G40" will decisively shape the district around the Kurfürstenstraße. A contemporary interpretation of Anglo-Saxon industrial loft architecture, the neighbourhood is set to become reminiscent of the world-famous New York district of SoHo. With a material composition emphasising brick and render and horizontal-form window frames, the G40 recovers a distinctly urban profile. The horizontal structure of the building as a whole finds its origin in the traditions of the modern industrial age and develops these conventions further. Generously sized windows and individual loggias, balconies and terraces mesh private living spaces with public city life in a congenial way. Tastefully designed garden areas on two levels maintain the balance between the concrete city spaces and the private interior zones of the apartment building.
The versatility of the residential units – ranging in size from 25 to 172 square metres, from micro-apartments to traditional family apartments – systematically provides for a vitally diverse mix of inhabitants. In the basement, an underground garage with 72 spaces for cars and some bicycle storage space offers secure, comfortable parking.
Each entrance receives its own address. Thus, the project represents and maintains the overall sizes and unit numbers associated with classic Berlin residential blocks dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. All this makes the G40 an impressive reflection of Berlin's future and far more than just another element of the city's ongoing urban reconstruction.

Location & environment
Your new neighbourhood is home to a variety of cultural and leisure activities, right on your doorstep. Only 500 meters away is the Varieté Wintergarten, a tradition-rich variety theatre that has been thrilling Berliners for over 100 years. The Berlin Philharmonic, which still attracts the world's most renowned musicians, is also within walking distance. And on the way to the Philharmonic, you can catch sight of the Neuen Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery) and the Gemäldegalerie, also located at the Kulturforum.
You can also expect a lot of greenery inviting you to head out for sports and recreation, or simply a relaxed picnic. The nature-crowded banks of the Landwehrkanal, the world-famous Tiergarten – also known as Central Park Berlin – and the Park am Gleisdreieck criss-crossed by bike paths leading further into Berlin are all less than a kilometre away.
Another highlight of the area is the Winterfeldtplatz market – one of the largest of Berlin's weekly markets. Here you'll not only find a wide selection of fruits and vegetables, cheeses and meats, but also numerous regional food stalls, flower merchants and art dealers. After a long market stroll, cozy cafés around the market square, flanked by its picturesque brick church, invite you to linger longer.
This quintessentially central residential complex is characterised by excellent public transport connections. Underground lines U1, U2, U3 and U4 run to all parts of the city from the the nearby Nollendorfplatz station, making destinations and prominent transport hubs such as Zoologischer Garten, Potsdamer Platz and Alexanderplatz all reachable within a short time.
Our housing project G40 sits at the heart of all these hotspots. Step outside and start your exploration!
