Stories about feeling good
The place Burgfarrnbach was originally a royal court. In 903 the name "Varenbach" was mentioned for the first time in a deed of donation from King Ludwig IV, that is, before Fürth was first mentioned in a document.
Much of the story has been preserved to this day. The Fürth city archive is located in the magnificent Burgfarrnbach Castle and the historic town centre with its beautiful half-timbered houses offers all kinds of things to marvel at.
With over 130,000 inhabitants, Fürth is the second largest city in Franconia. It was one of the first in Bavaria to be given the nickname "City of Science" and thus documents the special scientific status of the various institutions of science, research and teaching.
