At the end of the 19th century, Pankow was a place of "summer freshness". The recreational character of Pankow may have been preserved, but the times to destinations have become shorter. 207 seconds: the rapid-transit railway line glides so fast from the Wollankstraße to Gesundbrunnen train station, where you'll find direct connections to regional, ring and underground lines. If you want to reach Mitte, stay in your seat and let lines 1, 25 or 26 take you directly through to the centre – for shopping along Friedrichstrasse, for sightseeing with friends at the Brandenburg Gate, or to work at Potsdamer Platz. In the evening the same will whisk you quickly back home.
